Initially waiting until the end of the Euros to sort out his future, it appears things have sped up for Marseille’s goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.
The France number two, who made it clear he would be leaving the Ligue 1 club at the end of last season, is apparently of interest to Crystal Palace and Everton.
The player’s agent was reported to be heading to Paris for a meeting with Everton on Tuesday, but it appears another club has joined the party rather late in Leicester City, according to infosport+ in France, relayed by Le10 Sport.
Already signing Ron Robert-Zieler to challenge Kasper Schmeichel, it seems strange that Leicester would once again go for a keeper.
However, when a player of Mandanda’s calibre becomes available on the market, it certainly isn’t an opportunity to pass up.
We’re not entirely convinced about this, as it doesn’t make much sense, but if a club has made a serious attempt at signing Kasper Schmeichel (no reports as of yet), Mandanda could certainly be an option for the Foxes.
