West Ham United’s Turkish winger Gokhan Tore has expressed his desire to stay at West Ham and fight for his place, according to AksamSpor and Hurriyet.
The 24-year old has disappointed both Slaven Bilic and West Ham fans after his below-par performances but the Turkish international is determined to end the bad form and wants to be a part of West Ham’s team.
As we’ve covered earlier, Besiktas are willing to get their player back if both parties want, but manager Bilic said he’s not planning to force Tore out as he still believes he can be a very important asset to his struggling West Ham team. But if Tore wants out, then Bilic won’t stand in his way.
Besiktas president Fikret Orman reportedly met with Slaven Bilic to discuss Tore and the under-pressure West Ham boss was reported to have said: ”He’s a great player but he’s struggling here. He’s your player, I am not planning to force him out but if you want him, and if he wants you, then I’m OK with it [a return].”
Tore, formerly at Chelsea, has played 5 Premier League games so far for the Hammers and assisted one goal. The footballer has lost his place in the Turkish national team and will have to show a lot more if he wants to return to the country’s side.
It’s worth noting that West Ham have a chance to make the move permanent if they pay €10M to Besiktas.
Tore wanting to do well for West Ham can only be a good thing, despite his poor start. Given he’s on loan for the season, it’s worth the extra gamble if Tore is determined to turn things around.
