Belgian newspaper HLN claim on Monday that Leicester City are very keen to sign Wilfred Ndidi from Genk. So keen are Claudio Ranieri’s team, currently struggling to get anywhere near last year’s form, that they’ve already submitted an offer to the Belgian club.
It’s sounds like Leicester City have really thought about this one, putting forward €18m as an initial fee, but allowing Genk to receive up to €21m if all add-ons are met.
Despite HLN describing it as a ‘monster bid’ for the 19 year old, the Belgian newspaper say Genk aren’t rushing into a sale. They have quotes from the club’s sporting director (which should give a clue as to where the bid claims come from), and Dimitri de Condé is quoted explaining that he feels a fee between €20m and €25m would be more suitable.
It’s clear there’s a possible sale here if Leicester are prepared to play along with Dimitri de Condé and allow him to present a ‘win’.
Ndidi is a defensive midfielder who can also play in defence. These claims come just days after it was claimed Leicester have commenced talks to sign Serbian midfielder Luka Milivojevic from Greek club Olympiacos.
