Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin is close to finalising a move to Galatasaray, having encountered work permit issues in England.
That’s according to Asist Analiz, who say that the Turkish side have turned their attention to Yedlin as they look to improve their right-back options.
Yedlin is out of contract at St James Park in the summer and yet to sign a new deal, with the player recently making his frustrations on that front public.
Newcastle boss Steve Bruce then responded to this, stating that work permit issues (presumably brought about by the change in law thanks to Brexit) had led to issues on extending the American’s stay.
They report that the Super Lig side have ‘completed all transactions’ for Yedlin to move to Turkey after he encountered work permit issues in England.
Indeed, things seems to have gone very positively with the website, also stating that his move will be announced to the Turkish Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), i.e. the stock exchange, in the coming days.
The news is somewhat backed up by HaberTurk, who say Galatasaray have ‘made an effort’ to sign Yedlin from Newcastle.
According to their information, the Turkish side have ‘made great progress’ on this front, although there is no mention of a transfer fee or anything of that nature.
Indeed, there is also no details on whether this move will be happening this month or if Galatasaray are simply signing a pre-contract agreement and waiting until the summer.
We’re sure those will emerge sooner or later, though, with it looking very likely that Yedlin will be swapping the North East for Turkey at some point in the near future.
