Ajax are interested in signing West Ham United’s Sébastien Haller.
According to L’Equipe, the striker is ‘expected to join’ the Eredivisie side ‘quickly’ and the deal will cost Ajax around €25m.
De Telegraaf have looked at the claims made in the French media about the price tag and also report developments taking place behind the scenes.
The newspaper states the Amsterdam based club has reached an ‘verbal agreement’ with the Ivory Coast international for a ‘multi-year’ contract.
It’s ‘now important’ to find an agreement with the Hammers over the ‘transfer fee and to arrange the paperwork’. Ajax are ‘committed in taking’ David Moyes’ man permanently, despite the ‘considerable’ price tag.
Voetbal International are also reporting Ajax have found an agreement with Haller and expect to ‘close the deal’ with the Premier League side.
Should the two sides ‘reach a final agreement’, then the striker could be available for the weekend clash against PSV Eindhoven.
Haller has a contract until 2024, but West Ham are ready to cooperate to do business in January.
Ajax, however, will have to pay a lot, and as per VI, they are ‘approaching an agreement’ of €20m to conclude the operation. If the deal goes through, Haller will be the Dutch side’s record signing.
