Monaco defender Djibril Sidibe is thinking about a return to England following his loan spell at Everton last season.

The French full-back spent last season at Goodison Park, joining the Blues to provide competition for captain Seamus Coleman.

He was a regular under both Marco Silva and Carlo Ancelotti, making 28 appearances in all competitions across the campaign.

That loan deal included an option for Everton to make it permanent but they elected against doing so, instead bringing Jonjoe Kenny back from a loan deal with Schalke to act as back up to Coleman.

That hasn’t happened, with Mason Holgate actually playing when Coleman has been out injured and Kenny managing just four appearances and 77 minutes of football so far this year.

Finding an actual replacement is on the club’s list of transfer priorities, and it seems they could be given a second shot at Sidibe if they want it.

L’Equipe report that the right-back is on a list of players Monaco are likely to move on in January, having found himself supplanted at left-back by Caio Henrique and Ruben Aguilar on the right.

The player is said to be thinking about a return to England after his spell with Everton last year, having seemingly enjoyed his time on Merseyside.

Whether there is any interest in him isn’t mentioned, although it’s easy to imagine there will be given he was solid form throughout his time with the Toffees.

Indeed, they could do with better competition like him again, although their need to solve other problem areas first may mean a return is unlikely.
