Mesut Özil’s agent Erkut Söğüt has confirmed talks with Fenerbache but says it is likely the midfielder will finish the season at Arsenal.
Özil currently finds himself out of the picture at the Emirates, having been left out of their squads for the Premier League and Europa League.
He has thus been heavily linked with a move in January, with it felt he has effectively played his last game for Arsenal given his contract expires next summer.
There have subsequently been plenty of rumours about a potential move, with Söğüt confirming there are several clubs interested in signing his clients.
A return to Turkey with Fenerbache has been mooted, and his agent has confirmed they have held talks with the Super Lig club.
However, it seems they did not go very far with Söğüt believing Özil is more likely to finish the campaign with Arsenal than secure himself a move in the winter transfer window.
“Mesut has another 6-month contract with Arsenal. Certainly, he missed football,” he told Fanatik.
“He is currently working hard to wear the Arsenal shirt again, and he will continue to work.
“I would like to clearly state our situation regarding Fenerbahçe. Yes, we had meetings with Fenerbahçe. We had a one-on-one conversation with the club’s most authorized people.
“However, we can never have a contact before January for official transfer talks. We received transfer offers for Mesut from all over the world.
“Fenerbahce’s interest is also known. Nothing has changed for Mesut right now. Under these circumstances, it seems that Mesut will complete the season in Arsenal.”
