The agent of Emanuele Giaccherini has told the Italian media they have no regrets about joining Napoli from Sunderland. The Italy international signed for the Serie A side in the last transfer window after failing to make an impact whilst playing in England.
TMW have reported on comments Furio Valcareggi made to an Italian radio station when asked about his client’s move to Napoli in the summer. Giaccherini has struggled to hold a place down in the starting eleven, but his agent said there are no regrets after joining Napoli.
Valcareggi said the attacker is keen to prove his worth by training hard, and that they are looking forward to his three years with the club.
“Giaccherini is fine, he is happy to stay in Naples. He wants to play and prove himself in training. Let’s wait, however, there is not a shred of regret for our choice. This three-year period in Naples will be nice,” said the player’s agent.
Giaccherini signed for Sunderland from Juventus in 2013, but his time in the Premier League was blighted by injury and loss of form. The 31-year-old spent last season on loan with Serie A side Bologna, and at one point it looked like he would get a permanent move to the club.
However, once Napoli came in for the player Giaccherini jumped at the chance to play for the Champions League club.
