Signed by Leicester City from Cracovia back in 2016, Bartosz Kapustka never quite managed to make the cut at King Power Stadium.
There was a lot of promise there, but it never materialised into anything other than three first-team appearances and two loans to SC Freiburg and OH Leuven.
In the end, the 23-year-old left Leicester on a free last summer, returning to Poland by signing with Legia Warszawa on a free.
Since then, he’s made 12 appearances in all competitions, scoring once and picking up one assist, and is seemingly enjoying life back in his home country.
He said: “I didn’t have to come back to Poland. I could have chosen a different direction. There were options from the Netherlands or the USA. However, I didn’t know what would come of it because I decided quite early on that if I could reach an agreement with Legia, I wanted to go to this club”.
Why? “It’s not easy abroad, especially when you don’t have a loved one around you. Here, in Warsaw, it is much better in this respect”.
The move to Legia was a long time coming, with the program mentioning the fact the Polish side had been interested in the past to get him on loan.
Kapustka said: “I always had it in the back of my mind when this topic came up during my foreign adventure, but when I was in Leicester, there was no chance for that”.
