Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has insisted he is not ‘nervous’ about the arrival of a new president at the club.
Former Barça president Josep Bartomeu resigned from his position at the club three days ago, with him and his board electing to leave early before an expected vote of confidence next month.
His departure has now sparked the hunt for a replacement, with an interim board of directors in place until elections are held in March.
Several candidates have already begun to state their case for the position, with early frontrunner Victor Font having already stated he wants to bring Pep Guardiola back as Barcelona manager.
It means the Barcelona icon is set for a nervous few months, although he insists he is simply focused on winning football matches.
“I do not know. It is not in my hands,” Mundo Deportivo report him saying at his press conference today.
“I am a coach of this club, and I work hard to get the team forward, achieve good results and win titles.
“It is what the coach and the players have to do. And the rest, wait for the changes. I am not nervous, and I am involved in my work. It is like that.
“From today until the elections there are candidates who speak, who say things about their projects and we will see who will be the president in the future.
“I don’t like to speak individually about the candidates; we’ll see what can happen.
“My job is not to be happy or unhappy if someone wants to change things or not. I am here for the club and to win things, and the most important thing is to win tomorrow.“
