Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has been urged to make a move away from the club in January so he can ‘recover mentally’.
The Spanish goalkeeper has had a tough time of things since signing for Chelsea in a world-record move from Athletic Bilbao in 2018,
Thing hit a real low under Maurizio Sarri and have continued since Frank Lampard’s arrival last summer, with the Chelsea legend electing to drop Kepa and go with Willy Caballero midway through the campaign.
This summer saw him try to rectify the goalkeeping issue, with Chelsea eventually completing a £21.6m deal for Stade Rennais goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
That has seemingly put a further nail in Kepa’s Blues career, and Onda Cero journalist Miguel Venegas has urged him to look for a move away come January.
“It’s very bad for Kepa who hasn’t even been on the bench today and also that Mendy is doing very well in goal,” he told the radio station.
“It’s clear that since January they have taken him away and put in Willy Caballero instead. It’s also striking that they’ve signed Edouard Mendy.
“It’s logical that he won’t end up on the bench so I suppose he’ll have to look for a way out.
“Hopefully, he’ll find a good one to return to his level because he needs to recover mentally.”
