There have been claims in the past few days Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino is looking to purchase Serie B side Brescia. Reports say Cellino is keen to return to Italy after a two and half year absence from his home country.

Corriere Della Sera have reported on the recent claims Cellino is interested in Brescia, and they think he could land himself a bargain, even if it is something of a gamble. The Italian newspaper say Brescia is now again an attractive club after the financial problems of recent years, and as a result the club was nearly sold in the summer to a Chinese businessman.

With there being less debt compared to two years ago there is now money in the club to spend in the transfer market, and the Lombardi side are hopeful they can bring in players to help their push for promotion to Serie A. Brescia also have young talent at the club with Leonardo Morosini and Stefano Minelli being the standout players.

Cellino will have seen how the likes of unfashionable clubs like Carpi, Frosinone and Crotone have prospered since getting into Serie A, and the TV rights up for grabs. However, he would first need to sell Leeds United in order to return to Italy.
