French international Moussa Sissoko made his big money move from Newcastle United to Tottenham Hotspur on transfer deadline day.
The 27-year-old has had a reasonable start to his career at the London club, whilst his former club Newcastle are getting on fine without him and find themselves on the top of the Championship standings.
Sissoko has been speaking to French website Foot Mercato, and was asked if he still follows the Championship club, keeping an eye on Newcastle United’s progress.
The Frenchman revealed he does follow them ‘a little’, band is hoping for a quick return to the Premier League.
He said: “Yes, I follow them a little. I have lots of friends there. We stay in touch. I see what they do, that’s fine. They are very well. I hope it will continue like this all season and they will have the chance to come back to the Premier League.”
Sissoko started regularly for Mauricio Pochettino this season, before he picked up a three match suspension for elbowing Bournemouth’s Harry Arter.
The Frenchman has already served his suspension, and is expected to return to the line-up after the international break.
Sissoko switched to Tottenham in a €35m in the summer, having long spoken about a desire to leave Newcastle for Champions League football.
