Paris Saint Germain’s negotiations with Chelsea over a move for midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko ‘aren’t advancing’ at this moment in time.

Instead, PSG boss Thomas Tuchel ‘still prefers’ his Chelsea teammate Antonio Rudiger according to RMC Sport journalist Loïc Tanzi.

Bakayoko is widely expected to leave Stamford Bridge before the end of the transfer window after spending the last two seasons out on loan and seemingly failing to convince Frank Lampard to make him a part of his plans.

He has been heavily linked with a return to Italy, with former club AC Milan and Napoli both thought to be keen on his signature.

PSG have also been named as potential suitors, but Tanzi says that the negotiations between them and Chelsea are not going anywhere and so they are not ‘the favourite’ for his signature.

Instead, he looks likely to end up at an Italian club, which suits PSG boss Tuchel anyway as he would ‘prefer’ to secure a deal for Rudiger if he had to choose.

It now remains to be seen where Bakayoko ends up, with a return to Italy looking his most likely, and best option at this moment in time.
