Leeds United’s chase for Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul started looking cold a few days ago. And the small chances of his move have been confirmed by the Italian club tonight.
Manager Pierpaolo Marino spoke to Sky Italia ahead of their game against Spezia on Wednesday evening, and was asked about the offers for his number 10.
He not only claimed that there are no convincing bids so far, but also added that it’s becoming quite unlikely that De Paul is leaving the club this summer.
“For De Paul, no serious offers have arrived, not worthy of an Argentine international,” Marino told Sky (via Calcio Mercato).
“If there hasn’t been any news so far, I don’t see how they can get any in the last four days. We’ve had approaches with many teams, but not serious from the point of view of the offer. The Pozzo family has the strength to support a player like De Paul.”
Besides bringing the quotes, Calcio Mercato even mentions Leeds United’ interest. Now they claim that De Paul’s future seems to remain in Udine, even though the Whites tried to bring the player to Marcelo Bielsa’s squad.
The latest news from Italy claimed that Leeds United had offered €25m for the player, and wouldn’t raise it following Udinese’s denial. So this looks pretty much like a dead saga now.
