Over the past few days, multiple reports coming out of Germany have talked about Aston Villa’s interest in Milot Rashica.
On September 11th, Bild explained the English side are preparing an offer around €18m for the forward, and Werder Bremen want to sell him ‘as quickly as possible’.
Villa’s interest in the 24-year-old has now been confirmed by the Bundesliga club’s head of football, Clemens Fritz, during an interview with NDR.
The Werder Bremen chief has only revealed Dean Smith’s side have “come forward” for the Kosovo international, and nothing beyond that.
“They [Villa] have come forward, yes, I can confirm that. There is nothing concrete. There are a few requests for him. We are in intensive and close contact with his management,” Fritz was quoted as saying by Deich Stube.
Werder Bremen progressed to the second round of the DFB-Pokal after registering a 2-0 victory over FC Carl Zeiss Jena on Saturday. Rashica missed the tie due to a knee injury.
Kicker claims the player used his absence to ‘deal more intensively with Aston Villa’s interest’.
The German magazine then states, ‘according to reports’, the Premier League side are ready to offer €18m, while Werder Bremen’s ‘pain limit’ is set at €20m. Rashica, however, remains ‘clearly hesitant’, likely over moving to Villa Park.
