On September 4th, we covered claims from the Netherlands which stated Leeds United were working to sign Crysencio Summerville.
The Whites were presented as the ‘main candidates’ for the 18-year-old, who is owned by Eredivisie club Feyenoord.
Last season he made 21 appearances in the Dutch top division, whilst on loan at ADO Den Haag, scoring twice and adding three assists. On his return, Feyenoord haven’t been able to convince him that’ll be handed enough chances going forward and, given his contract expires in less than a year, have been forced to listen to offers for the winger.
That didn’t happen, but it’s not taken much longer.
Gianluca Di Marzio now reports the player is ‘very close’ to signing for Leeds United on a permanent deal. A transfer fee is estimated at around €1m, and there’s a suggestion the deal could even be done today.
