It’s been a while since we’ve covered a story about N’Golo Kanté and Inter, but it was bound to happen again.
Normally, the Frenchman gets mentioned in passing in an article, and it’s simply not enough to warrant a full breakdown, but when both Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport mention it and look into it, we can’t ignore it.
We’ll start with the first of the two, as the pink newspaper explain Kanté, to Frank Lampard, is ‘outgoing’, and is Antonio Conte’s ‘dream’.
Unfortunately, he’s seen as an ‘expensive objective’, only available if Inter manage a ‘top sale’.
That’s what Corriere state as well, explaining that any move for Kanté, regardless of how little use he is to Lampard, would still cost around €60m.
That’s why the avenue leading to the Chelsea midfielder has ‘gone colder’ as the Blues aren’t ready to accept counterparts in the deal, wanting just ‘cash’.
Following their big expenses on Ben Chilwell, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech with Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz expected to follow, that’s understandable, but it’s a pain in the backside for clubs without that money and who have players they also want to get rid of.
