Just yesterday, we covered a story from Portuguese newspaper O Jogo which said West Bromwich Albion don’t want to make a ‘big investment’ in signing of Filip Krovinovic from Benfica.
Following his one-year loan spell, the Baggies would like to repeat the temporary deal, instead of trying a permanent transfer this time.
It didn’t seem very likely to happen at first, but today, local newspapers bring some optimistic news about this approach.
O Jogo writes that the clubs are currently negotiating the move, and West Brom are ‘close’ to guaranteeing the player on another loan.
Meanwhile, newspaper A Bola says the clubs are currently in talks, and the Baggies should spend €10m on the transfer. The report doesn’t explain if that’ll happen immediately or after another loan spell.
Krovinovic is currently in Lisbon, and should work with Benfica’s squad until his situation is finally sorted. He made 43 appearances for West Brom in the campaign which took the club to the Premier League last season.
