In the past few weeks, several European sides have been linked to Almeria striker Darwin Núñez.
Reports from Spain, England, Portugal, Italy and Germany have been saying there’s a big battle for the 21-year-old this summer, with giants such as Barcelona and Milan chasing him.
But according to a story from Calcio Mercato today, there are two clubs leading this race, and these are Brighton & Hove Albion and Wolfsburg.
The outlet claims the Seagulls had already offered €20m for the signing, and now the German side have matched the bid.
Calcio Mercato even claims that Milan and Napoli both followed the player, but says that a move to Italy is now ‘unlikely’ due to this competition between the English and the German side.
Darwin Núñez scored 16 goals in 30 games for Ameria in La Liga 2 this season. The Spanish side paid less than €5m to sign him from Peñarol last summer, and now have the chance of making a big profit, especially when a Premier League club like Brighton is involved.
