Man United and Man City have made ‘firm offers’ to Mendes for left-back – Player in England on Tuesday

Left-back, left-back, left-back.

That appears to be the need of pretty much every big team in the Premier League except Liverpool, who have Andrew Robertson, and there is one in particular who has caught the eye: Rayan Aït-Nouri.

Both Manchester United and Manchester City are keen, and the two clubs have ‘made a move’ for the Angers SCO defender, who is more and more expected to leave the Ligue 1 club this summer.

Foot Mercato are the ones reporting it, explaining that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s and Pep Guardiola’s sides have decided to try and ‘wrap up’ a deal for the player this summer, and ‘many exchanges’ have taken place between the clubs and the player’s entourage.

Said talks have now turned into ‘firm offers’ sent to Jorge Mendes, his agent, as well as ‘concrete offers’ to Angers.

Foot Mercato state that, as of yesterday, the player still doesn’t know what his future holds, but he has travelled to England, arriving on Tuesday, to ‘visit the infrastructures of several clubs’ including those of Manchester United and Manchester City, as well as ‘meeting those in charge’.

Basically, everyone is throwing themselves at him so that he chooses them.

Now all that is done, Aït-Nouri and his entourage will take some time to think about things before making a final decision.

Over at Angers, it’s said his exit, barring a ‘huge U-turn’ is seen as done, which is why they bought Souleyman Doumbia for €3m.

No figures regarding the transfer are mentioned, but Foot Mercato believe that any move could see him become the Ligue 1 club’s most expensive sale, surpassing that of Jeff Reine-Adelaïde to Lyon for €25m + €2.5m in bonuses.
