Manchester United’s Memphis Depay is described as a “dream signing” for AS Roma in an article published by Gazzetta Dello Sport on Friday.
The Italian side are already struggling with several injuries, and given the fact that Mohamed Salah will be out of the squad during the African Cup of Nations, Roma may well look to add during the January transfer window.
Gazzetta don’t give many details of a possible deal, as no contacts or offers are mentioned in their short text. They only say that Roma have the dream of signing Depay, something which may well have a chance of happening because of the lack of games the player is getting at Manchester United.
The Dutch international’s difficult Manchester United period has now dragged on for some time. He’s only made seven appearances under José Mourinho, and given the fact that he couldn’t impress in any of them, it’s very unlikely he’ll get a starting spot anytime soon.
This absence will probably link him to many clubs in the months to come, so if Roma really have this dream, they better move soon.
