The agent of Chievo Verona defender Fabrizio Cacciatore has told the Italian media his client could still move during this summer’s transfer window. The 28-year-old was strongly linked with Leeds United in February, but he decided to remain in Italy.
Speaking to Sport Italia, Donato Di Campli was asked if Cacciatore would be remaining with Chievo after he spent last season on loan with the Serie A side from Sampdoria. Di Campli confirmed the full back would start his pre-season training with Chievo, but said they would assess his future during the summer.
During the last window we covered reports from Italy that Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino was interested in the much travelled defender, and was in attendance for Chievo’s game with Empoli in January.
Leeds United followed this up by sending scouts to the game between Lazio and Chievo that same month to get a further lowdown on the player.
At the time Leeds United had just sold Sam Byram to West Ham United, and the right back was seen as an ideal replacement.
