The news over the weekend that Manchester United were planning to meet Juventus on Monday over Paul Pogba understandably got fans on social media very excited.
The 22-year-old midfielder, who left the Premier League club on a free four years ago to play for Juventus, has already developed into arguably one of the best in his position.
Currently with France at this summer’s Euros, the youngster has had a rollercoaster of a tournament so far, producing moments of magic all the while underwhelming during lengthy spells.
To persuade Juventus to let their star go, we all know clubs would have to most likely break the transfer record, and that’s what Gazzetta dello Sport suggest on Monday.
However, Gazzetta suggest the Premier League club would be ready to beat Real Madrid when it came to wages, offering Pogba a reported £192k/week, as well as meeting his agent’s, Mino Raiola, demands of a £20.8m agent fee.
While this seems like a lot of money (and it is), it would show how prepared Manchester United’s bosses are to get their club back to the top level.
And with the acquisitions of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba, they would also be ensuring the future of Mino Raiola, his kids, his grandkids, and probably his great grandkids, too.
