Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos has undergone a medical at Stuttgart ahead of a loan move to the German side.
That’s according to sport-fm.gr, who report the Arsenal man had his medical this morning and should sign a deal soon.
A report in Germany this morning indicated that the German side, who recently secured promotion to the Bundesliga, had identified the Greek defender as an option this summer.
They are keen to add to their squad, but limited finances mean that director of football Sven Mislintat has had to come up with creative solutions to do so.
Signing Mavropanos, whom he took to Arsenal in 2018 when he was in charge at the Emirates, was one such solution.
The report in Germany did not indicate that there had been contact about a move, but it seems the deal is more advanced than it appeared.
As far as sport-fm are concerned, Mavropanos underwent a medical with the Bundesliga side this morning and ‘if nothing unexpected happens’ he will sign a loan deal with them.
The ‘status’ of the transfer remains to be finalised – so Stuttgart are yet to finalise the terms of his loan deal – but it seems he’s set for another spell in Germany after spending the second half of this season with Nuremberg.
