There’s a very good reason why Italian clubs have been following Chelsea fullback Emerson Palmieri this year, and website FC Inter News sums it up today.

They start a story saying the Brazilian is the ‘the easiest and most accessible to sign’, especially after manager Frank Lampard included him in the list of players to go this summer.

Inter are said to be studying a way of signing Palmieri, and hope to get him on a paid loan ‘with a right of redemption that may become obligatory after achieving certain conditions’.

Chelsea are said to ‘appreciate’ these conditions, and even though Marina Granovskaia has been demanding €30m for the transfer, it’s claimed that she could end up taking €25m.

FC Inter News explain ‘telephone contacts continue’, and the fact Juventus and Maurizio Sarri are also interested in signing Palmieri means there’s no need to accept the first offer they get, which is why ‘Chelsea keep the price high and hope to make money’.

The report ends by claiming the Blues are in need of a good income so they can spend big on the signing of Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen.
