Over the past few weeks, there’s been a number of stories regarding a strong interest from Udinese in Newcastle United’s Matty Longstaff.
The young midfielder’s contract at St James’ Park was set to expire on June 30th, but he agreed to extend it until the end of the season for the time being.
Steve Bruce has made it clear he would like to keep Longstaff at the club if he can, but there has yet to be an agreement announced between the two parties.
The Newcastle manager explained on Friday he would meet that afternoon with the player to try and convince him to stay, but that doesn’t appear to have been successful, at least not officially.
Down Udinese’s end, the contract of ‘over €1m/year’ has already been presented to the player, and Gino Pozzo ‘is waiting’.
