Everton striker Romelu Lukaku could be leaving this summer, but it won’t be easy for any club to strike a deal with the Merseyside club.
The 23-year-old has often expressed his desire to play in the Champions League, and his agent, Mino Raiola, is also keen on finding a club in the Serie A for him.
However, it’s Everton’s decision to make, as the player still has three years left on his contract, and clubs in Italy, where a move is most often reported, can’t really afford him.
AC Milan, however, are on the verge of a takeover by a Chinese consortium, who are ready to invest in the transfer market. That’s usually the way these takeovers start, or at least what the fans are told.
It’s not clear, if all of that would be spent on Lukaku, but we’re not exactly sure a move to the Serie A club would be tempting. AC Milan are not in the Champions League next season, and you’d think the striker would rather stay in the Premier League.
AC Milan are a grand old club, even grander than Everton, but they’ve fallen on hard times and any new investment will surely take a while to change that.
