As things stand, Amiens remain a Ligue 1 club after a court decided their situation (they were 19th when the league came to a halt) would be reviewed further at a later date.
In the meantime, the French club are also waiting to find out if they will be able to count on their striker Serhou Guirassy next season, all depending on whether or not a team meets their demands.
Among those interested, according to L’Equipe, are West Ham, although they might need to accelerate things as Stade Rennais are also hovering.
The French newspaper explain ‘exchanges’ have already taken place between the two French sides, which was confirmed by Amiens without revealing how much their counterparts had offered.
It’s said the Hammers are ‘trying to densify their attacking options’, and have ‘already formulated offers’ to try and buy Guirassy.
The problem at the moment is that Amiens are being ‘greedy’, and are hoping to get €20m, regardless of whether they stay up in Ligue 1 or get relegated to Ligue 2.
It seems a bit high, and it could be the club lower their requests as the summer goes on, but, for now, their stance is clear.
This isn’t the first time West Ham have been linked with Guirassy, as Le10 Sport reported back in early May that ‘discussions were currently underway’ regarding a move.
