Despite the player recently telling RTBF that his first choice would be to stay at Paris Saint-Germain, the Ligue 1 champions don’t appear to be willing to give him a new contract, meaning a free transfer is currently on the cards for the right-back.
According to L’Equipe on Tuesday, Spurs currently ‘have the inside track’ for the defender, and are reportedly ‘very insistent’ in their attempts to sign Meunier.
That’s all the detail they give us, but with only Serge Aurier in the role at the moment following the loan of Kyle Walker-Peters to Southampton and the sale of Kieran Trippier to Atlético Madrid, bringing in Meunier would do José Mourinho’s squad the world of good for the 2020-21 campaign.
