Whenever Ruben Neves speaks to the Portuguese media, there’s a very good chance he’ll be asked about returning to FC Porto one day.
It’s the same for many players who leave the country, especially when they do so towards the beginning of their career. Neves shot through the Porto system and was quickly their captain, things went a little sour under Nuno Espirito Santo, and he ended accepting a move to Wolves in the Championship.
This time under Nuno things went a lot better and Neves is considered one of the best young midfielders in the Premier League.
The 23 year old still has unfinished business with Porto, and this time speaking to Porto TV, made it clear it’s still his aim to transfer back to the club in the future, and win a trophy with them.
That surely has to be for a time way into the future, with the likelihood that if and when Ruben Neves leaves Wolves it’ll be for a fee far higher than Porto could pay.
