In the last transfer window, Genk allowed Ianis Hagi to join Rangers on loan until the end of the season and the Gers have an option to make his transfer permanent.
The attacker managed three goals and an assist in all competitions for Steven Gerrard’s side before football was suspended due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Although the Romania international has only made 12 appearances in all competitions for Rangers, he has managed to draw attention from elsewhere.
Lazio have been credited with an interest and multiple reports coming out of the Italian media have discussed the possibility of the Serie A side signing the 21-year-old when the transfer window re-opens.
The Scottish Premiership side can keep Hagi at Ibrox beyond his loan period if they pay a reported fee of €5m to the Jupiler Pro League side.
“He’s borrowed to Rangers and there’s too much talk. He’s very well, they’re happy with him, Ianis is delighted with what he found there,” Gică Hagi was quoted as saying by Gazeta Sporturilor.
“Something changes every day. I see all sorts of information. Rangers has an option to buy him. He looks at himself, he has extraordinary performance, he feels extraordinary.
“I don’t think Ianis will be short of offers, even if… But I don’t say anything more, not to be bad any more. When was Ianis refused? I say he is the number one player in Romania, who played in Europe and performed well. He cannot be declined!”
