The Argentine media continues to sound convinced that Estudiantes will try to extend Marcos Rojo’s deal from Manchester United.
Newspaper El Dia has a long story about how the La Plata club will deal with contracts which would expire in June, especially now that FIFA are telling players to stay until the season ends.
Regarding Marcos Rojo, they point out that Estudiantes could barely use the player. Signed on loan in January on a six-month deal, the defender spent a long time recovering from an injury, and only made one appearance for the club.
So according to El Dia, Estudiantes’s idea is to speak to Manchester United and try to hold the player for a little longer.
The Argentine media used to be confident that Rojo’s move would be made permanent, but it seems things have been changing now. On Tuesday, we had already covered a story from Info Cielo which also said Estudiantes would try for another loan.
Rojo’s contract with Manchester United runs until 2022.
