Adnan Januzaj blasted onto the scene with Manchester United, showing a level of talent which could have allowed him to have a good career with the Red Devils.
For whatever reason, it wasn’t to be and a loan move to Borussia Dortmund failed to provide the solution, with Januzaj receiving plenty of criticism from media close to the Bundesliga club.
Then followed another loan move to Sunderland, before Januzaj found himself a permanent transfer to Real Sociedad. That was in 2017 and there’s been plenty of ups and downs since then.
Januzaj has six goals and four assists in 22 matches so far this season, and has been particularly effective in the Copa del Rey. Real Sociedad have got to the final of the competition, where they’re set to face fierce rivals Athletic Club Bilbao.
Speaking to La Real fans on Instagram, he’s been asked his favourite player, and underlined his Old Trafford connections. AS quote the 25 year old as saying: “For me the best player is Cristiano Ronaldo, but my favourite is Pogba, because I grew up playing with him. Manchester United is my second team after Real.”
With a contract lasting until 2021 with the Basque club, the Belgium international has found a longer term home than he’s had before at the senior level of football. Now, he really needs to kick on and finally fulfil all that natural promise.
