Brazilian star Richarlison has given a long interview to Lance today, mostly talking about the current season and the league’s suspension due to Coronavirus.
But there was a part of the chat where the journalist mentioned Watford, pointing out that the Hornets have been fighting against relegation, and asked the player to send a message to his old club.
“I’m saddened by their situation and hope that they will leave the Premier League’s relegation zone,” Richarlison told Lance. “I have a lot of gratitude and respect for Watford and the fans, I left a lot of friends there. I hope they can get up and get out of this difficult situation.”
Watford paid €12.5m to take Richarlison from Brazilian side Fluminense back in 2017. In the only season he had for the Hornets, the player had five goals and five assists in 41 appearances.
Now at Goodison Park, Richarlison had 10 goals this season so far. He’s been asked about where this success has been coming from, and credits it all to his own efforts as a player.
“I think that every success is the result of work. I’ve been dedicating myself a lot in training, in games and this has worked. I always wanted to play here in England, and to be successful so far, it’s a dream come true. I fought hard for it and I hope it gets better and better.”
