Barcelona aren’t quite in a crisis situation, but there’s a feeling they’re only a few bad results away from hitting one.
There’s been hiccups on the pitch, including the painful defeat to Real Madrid at the weekend, and all kinds of drama off the pitch as well.
Recent claims about those in charge at the Camp Nou being behind a negative publicity campaign, aimed at senior players and club legends, were predictably dismissed, but that hasn’t got rid of the suspicion.
There’s also the transfer planning situation which saw Barca scrambling around for an emergency signing and picking Martin Braithwaite, a player who wouldn’t have been seriously considered under normal circumstances.
Now there’s some news about Junior Firpo which suggests not all Barcelona players are following the club’s rules for their life outside football.
Marca has picked up claims from Catalonia which state Junior Firpo recently injured his hand whilst taking part in a ‘go-kart race’. That’s why he wore a bandage on his hand for the matches against Napoli and Eibar.
Jordi Alba starts ahead of the 23 year old former Real Betis player so it’s not a huge problem, and Junior isn’t stopped from playing, but Marca point out the Barca squad are forbidden from taking part in ‘risk activities’ such as go-karting.
