If Watford fans watch an Udinese game this season, they’ll probably see a lot of familiar faces around.

Back in the summer, the Italian side announced the arrival of Ken Sema on a one-year loan spell from the Hornets. That was just the start of things.

Then in January they found a deal to sign Marvin Zeegelaar, having paid a fee of €2m for the player, who already had a loan spell at the club in the past.

Zeegelaar has been presented by Udinese on Thursday, and talked about his meeting with Sema.

“I know Ken well, I played together with him at Watford. There will be a healthy competition between us that will push both to give the best to improve. I will be ready when I am called,” he said (via Corriere Dello Sport).

Another one who’s been presented by Udinese today was Sebastian Prodl. The defender rescinded his contract with Watford, and ended up joining the Italian side on a free move.

Prodl has spoken about his ties with the Pozzo family, saying it dates back to the time when he’s joined the Hornets in a move from Werder Bremen back in 2015. He relates his move to Serie A with his relationship with the club’s owners.

“For me it has always been a dream to be able to play in Serie A. Four or five years ago I was already in contact with the Pozzo family, deciding together to embark on the path at Watford.”
