Christian Eriksen can’t stop talking since extending his contract with Tottenham Hotspur. The Danish international has been repeatedly speaking to the media in his own country since the extension, and it’s all been hugely positive.
Eriksen comes across as a top professional and intelligent footballer and he’s granted some lengthy interviews talking about his career to date, and his childhood in Middelfart.
However, sometimes just a quick soundbite is needed and quoted by Tipsbladet, Eriksen has shared some positive words for Tottenham supporters: “I wanted to extend, because I feel that we can take the next step, which is to be at the top.
“In the past Tottenham have been a middle to top club, but with the players we have in the squad, our way of playing and a new stadium, then there is a possibility that we may be at the top.
“Now we play also in the Champions League, as we did in the past, and that is something I like. I personally had no doubt that I wanted to stay and be a part of the building.”
Tottenham are currently second in the Premier League, a single point behind leaders Manchester City, who Spurs convincingly beat at the weekend. It’s early days in the current season, but Tottenham are going about things the right way to fit in with Eriksen’s plan.
