It’s fair to say Derk Boerrigter’s transfer to Celtic wasn’t exactly a success. Leaving Ajax after a good three years at the the Amsterdam club, Derk Boerrigter signed for Celtic on a four year contract.
Injuries turned the move sour and Boerrigter wasn’t able to build on what he’d shown at his former club. There were other issues too and it was clear for a long time that Boerrigter had no future at Celtic.
During the summer, the Dutch footballer agreed terms to terminate his contract at Celtic, and therefore cancel the final year of the deal which was set to run until June 2017.
Since then, Boerrigter has been without a club, but that may be about to change.
Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf report that Boerrigter has been spotted in talks with Roda JC coach Yannis Anastasiou.
The pair were spotted at the Gelderlandplein shopping mall in Amsterdam, and unless they were accompanying each other on a shopping spree, it seems the footballer could be about to get himself a contract.
