Everton’s chase for Brazilian star Everton Cebolinha continues to be followed very intensely by the local media, with several outlets talking about it in the past 24 hours.

On Thursday morning, we covered a story from Zero Hora which said the player’s agent was flying to England to negotiate with the Toffees.

Then at night, it was time for Radio Grenal reporter Bruno Flores to report the transfer as ‘very close’. He said there are only details left before the move can be sorted in the January transfer window.

On Friday, there’s even more coming from other reports, even though it seems like Everton’s official bid for the player is still to be made.

Zero Hora columnist Leonardo Oliveira brings a long story explaining why Carlo Ancelotti wants to sign the player, since he looks for a right winger (despite Everton playing on the left) so he can have more options for the squad.

But he says that despite the interest shown by the manager, Everton are still to make an offer, just like Borussia Dortmund, who are also said to be interested.

Columnist Eduardo Gabardo also brings information about these two clubs, saying the Toffees have ‘established contacts’, but haven’t made a bid.

Another interesting story comes from UOL. They explain that Grêmio used to have rights for only 50% of a fee, since the other 50% was shared between the player, his agent and his former club Fortaleza.

But, since August, the club have an agreement to take 65% of a transfer. It’s said that should make a sale easier, and Everton are named as the main contenders.
