Carlo Ancelotti is not the official Everton manager just yet, but it’s a deal that appears to be edging closer, and when it’s finalised, the transfer stories will inevitably start.
Several players have already been linked with joining Ancelotti at Goodison Park, and chief among them is Zlatan Ibrahimović.
The veteran striker will soon be out of contract having ended his stint in MLS, and various reports have suggested Everton have already made an approach.
Tuttosport cover the situation today, and they make it clear that Ancelotti’s arrival at Everton could pave the way for Ibrahimović to make the move too.
They report that Ancelotti asked for a ‘certain number of reinforcements’ in his discussions with Everton’s management and at the top of that list is Ibrahimović.
This is not at all surprising given he also wanted to sign the striker for Napoli before his sacking there and the newspaper describes him as a ‘fixed nail’ for the manager.
He now thinks he can get him to move to Everton, with Ancelotti described as a friend who could ‘snatch’ the striker, who he worked alongside at Paris Saint Germain, away from AC Milan.
It’s even suggested that he could use the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, to his advantage, with the Italian enjoying a good relationship with Everton after sending Moise Kean there this summer.
