It looks like the race for Liverpool midfielder Allan is just about to start.
The 22-year-old, whose loan spell at Fluminense is expiring at the end of the year, now must find a club to play for in 2020.
As reported by UOL today, the player still doesn’t have an EU passport or a work permit, so the Reds are interested in listening to bids for him.
Fluminense are said to be interested in extending the loan deal, but for that to happen, Allan would have to extend his contract with Liverpool, as they believe the current one expires next summer.
UOL reports São Paulo have now joined the race, and should be negotiating a move with the Anfield side as well.
It’s claimed that although a permanent transfer sounds ‘ideal’ for Liverpool, neither Fluminense or São Paulo have shown the intention of buying the player so far.
Since Allan is allowed to sign a pre-contract in January, if the contract claims are correct, there’s not a lot the Reds can do to hold him.
And it doesn’t really look like it’s their intention either.
