MLS club Atlanta United are in negotiations to sign the Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, according to reports from Italy.
Calcio Mercato says the talks continue to be ongoing and the results of it should be known soon.
Atlanta United have already signed the former Barcelona and Argentina manager Tata Martino as part of their ambitious project for their first season as a professional club, or franchise, as they are called in the league.
Their debut in the MLS is set to happen in March 2017, so the player could make the move during the winter market and still make a pre-season in the United States.
Bastian Schweinsteiger hasn’t had the chance to play any minutes for Manchester United since José Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford.
The German joined the club on a €9m deal from Bayern Munich in 2015 and made 31 appearances in his first season.
