Marko Grujic has admitted it is his ‘dream’ to play for Liverpool next season, but he would be comfortable spending another year out on loan.
The midfielder is currently at Hertha Berlin, whom he joined for a second loan spell, after spending last year on loan with the German side also.
He has been ever-present for them so far, making 14 appearances in all competitions and starting all but one of their league games to date.
It is the third period he has spent on loan away from Liverpool, having also spent half a season at Cardiff in 2018 and the aforementioned first loan spell at Hertha.
That’s something he’s focused on too, admitting he would not be averse to staying in Germany for another year if the chance is not there on Merseyside.
“My dream is to get the chance in Liverpool next season,” he told Berliner-Kurier.
“If not, I would be very happy to come back and be part of this project. I’m a Hertha fan. Everything looks very professional and ambitious.
“The conditions are wonderful. Berlin deserves international football.
“Of course, the club (Liverpool) worries if I do not play well. Most importantly, I collect game practice. We analyse all my games.
“All with the context and hope that I will play in Liverpool next year. If it does not work and the club wants to loan me again, I would be very happy to stay another year with Hertha.”
