There’s understandably excitement in Norway about the future of Erling Braut Haaland. The 19 year old’s excellent goalscoring record this season for Red Bull Salzburg has caught the attention of football fans around Europe, and that of interested clubs as well.

Manchester United have been the club most linked with the 19 year old, largely because of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s presence. Haaland worked with the manager at Molde, and the Red Devils boss has been credited with helping launch the player’s career.

Alf-Inge Håland, the player’s father, spent time in England with Manchester City and Leeds United, big rivals of United, and it’s been claimed by some that this would hamper a move to Old Trafford.

Håland has already made it clear that’s not the case, and will not be a factor when it comes to a transfer.

On Friday evening, Norwegian newspaper VG published an article, presenting information they say has come from a source. A list of clubs are named as having sent officials to watch Red Bull Salzburg, and Manchester United are on it.

The rest of the clubs are: Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Valencia and Sevilla.

VG also report that sources at the Austrian club hope to keep the player beyond the January window, but it’s made clear a move in the winter market isn’t ruled out.

There’s been no offers so far.
