Lukas Nmecha came up through the ranks of Manchester City’s academy, but first team opportunities with the Premier League winners were restricted, which is why he had to go out on loan.

The forward spent the last season at Preston North End, while Pep Guardiola allowed him to join Wolfsburg on a temporary move for this campaign.

He is yet to start a game for the Bundesliga side, and has played less than 150 minutes across eight appearances in all competitions. Nmecha is yet to score or register an assist.

Kicker now claims the attacker needs to convince Wolfsburg that he’s ‘worth a lot of money’ if they have to sign him on a permanent transfer.

The player’s contract at the Etihad runs down in 2021 and the report states the German club will have to spend €11.5m if they plan to make his loan deal permanent.

Wolfsburg manager Oliver Glasner is of the belief the City owned forward, who can play across three attacking positions, will come good in the coming weeks.

His side are also convinced with Nmecha’s abilities since he has already impressed for Germany U21, scoring two goals in the last three appearances.

It’s now time for him to replicate it at Wolfsburg.
