Brighton youngster Leo Østigård says there are ‘many factors’ that will decide whether he stays with the Seagulls beyond this season.
The 19-year-old joined Brighton in August last year in a move from Molde but is yet to make his first-team debut for the club, instead featuring 13 times for the Under 23’s last season.
This summer he moved on loan to German side St. Pauli in search of regular first-team football and the chance to continue his development.
He’s settled in well with the 2.Bundesliga side, making six appearances in the league so far and starting in four of those games.
The club has no option to keep the Brighton man beyond the end of his loan spell, with the deal not including a purchase option at the end of it.
And while he admits a decision will not be made until his loan spell is up, there are plenty of factors he will need to consider.
“There are many factors involved in my future,” he told Hamburger Abenblatt.
“Will Brighton stay in the league? Am I staying here? Do I go to another club?
“The decision will probably be considered and will not come before the end of the season.”
