Manchester United defender Eric Bailly was in Spain this week as he continues his rehabilitation from a serious knee injury.
The centre back was ruled out for up to five months earlier this summer after picking up the injury in the pre-season meeting with Tottenham in Shanghai.
He underwent surgery in July and was reported to be stepping up his recovery last month, although it was later claimed that Manchester United officials were concerned he may be out until the New Year.
There’s been little mention of the Ivory Coast international since then, with his primary focus presumably on getting fit as soon as possible.
According to the newspaper, Bailly had been for ‘treatment’ with renowned knee surgeon Dr Ramon Cugat, the man favoured by Pep Guardiola and several European giants when it comes to treating knee injuries.
There’s no mention of what that treatment was, for example, whether it was Bailly stepping up his recovery or just a routine consultation.
The most likely answer is that it was the latter, as those sort of check-ups are standard practice for player’s recovering from an injury like Bailly’s.
Manchester United will undoubtedly be hoping it was good news whatever happened, with Bailly one of the current injured stars Ole Gunnar Solskjær could do with getting back sooner rather than later.
