Ivan Rakitić’s situation at Barcelona has been getting a lot of attention in the past couple of days, since the lack of playing time could mean his departure from the club.
Newspaper Marca is one of the outlets talking about it today, claiming that the Croatian international will seek his exit in case things don’t change until January.
It’s said that the player will slowly analyse the market, where clubs like Manchester United or Juventus could end up landing him.
Marca writes that two things convinced Rakitic to stay in the summer: a promise from Ernesto Valverde saying he was important for the team, and a message from Barcelona’s board claiming he would get a new contract.
But after being involved in many transfer rumours and being benched by the manager, the player realised that things could be different throughout the season.
Marca doesn’t bring any clear information about talks with Manchester United or Juventus, as the player is just seeing what will happen.
His priority would be to stay at the Camp Nou, but things could end up sending him somewhere else, like Old Trafford.
