Manchester United are refusing to give up on Mario Mandžukić but are yet to find an agreement with Juventus over a possible transfer.
United sold Romelu Lukaku in the summer, and that has left them weak upfront, with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood failing to hit the required standard.
Mandžukić is a player they were keen on in the summer transfer window but failed to get a deal done before the deadline, and it seems they wish to rectify that in January.
Tuttosport report that they have not given up on the Croatian striker and getting a deal done is a ‘hypothesis that would satisfy both parties’.
Mandžukić is keen on the move as he views it as a chance to end his career at a high level, while Manchester United think his experience would give a boost to a struggling team.
The striker has already turned down a move to Qatar because he prefers the England option, but there is no agreement in place with Juventus yet.
Tuttosport believe they value Mandžukić at around €15m, although that price could come down as the striker is not in Maurizio Sarri’s plans.
He’s not managed a minute of football under the Italian this season.
That leaves the ball in firmly in United’s court with there certainly a deal there to be done should they be as keen in Mandžukić as the reports suggest they are.
Earlier this week the same newspaper reported there’s a verbal agreement in place between the player’s entourage and Manchester United.
